Tale of the Tortoise

Author's Note

One of my memories in 2nd grade was explaining to my best friend about how there is a Korean version of Aesop's The Tortoise and the Hare. There was no race at all and no it's not actually by Aesop.

When you just started learning English, you are new to the school and the question by the most Asia aware person was "are you from China or Japan?", explaining the intricacies and history of this quintessential Korean story was not easy. Oh yeah, and did I mention I was in 2nd grade?

35 years later, here I am putting this book out in the world. Talk about a long l'esprit de l'escalier!
